In preparation for these sessions we surveyed the literature, talked to experts for trends gaining momentum in the business world, we review podcast, blogs and other sources. This effort, which was far from exhaustive, yielded interesting results. The items that we found along this search filters through a first screen, which we christened. It is not difficult to imagine its use. Through the number of hits (hits) received, we took a first step in the process of prioritizing the list of items to share at the meeting. From this first filter was refined analysis to reach conclusions grouped in three categories: concepts, opportunities and tools.

These were discussed under the premise that the actions which are targeting business leaders today revolve around two central themes: growth and / or productivity. Innovation was the concept that generated more hits, by far. In particular, innovation in the business model is attracting attention, time and company resources.

Clearly, adjustments experienced by the economies of the countries entered markets, many companies looking to return to their DNA, or consumers themselves have forced employers to rethink their models. This has pushed them to pursue growth opportunities in sectors not previously considered at the same time, take advantage of tools that enable the delivery of customer value more efficiently and productively.

For example, the global business community represented by companies like Incentive’s, Mechanical Turk Top Coder and put at our disposal numerous talents from around the world via the Internet. Also, other tools such as cloud computing, “crowd sourcing, open source and social networks are helping to significantly improve efficiency and reduce operating costs for many companies.

Low cost products, the payment for use, green business, new geographies and application of mobile technology are examples of opportunities that are constantly being evaluated in this new context.
